State Representative Keith Wheeler, R-Oswego, and State Senator Linda Holmes, D-Aurora, invite local residents to attend a FREE utility bill clinic from 11:30am – 1:30pm on Wednesday, September 28 at the Aurora Public Library West Branch, located at 233 S. Constitution Drive.
Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their gas, electric and landline or cell phone bills for a free one-on-one consultation with a consumer expert from the Citizens Utility Board (CUB), who will give tips on how to reduce costs. At clinics across Illinois, CUB has shown consumers how to trim their bills by an average of more than $200 per year.
“Helping local residents save money on their utility bills is one of the many ways our offices are pleased to serve our community,” Rep. Wheeler said. “I encourage everyone to attend and learn how to apply simple tips to get more for less on every dollar you spend on gas, electric and phone service.”
At the Utility Bill Clinic, guests will learn:
- How to spot unnecessary charges on electric, natural gas, and phone bills.
- Which energy efficiency programs and rebates can help.
- What to watch for when shopping around in the energy market.
- Consumer options when it comes to phone, TV, and Internet.
For questions or to RSVP, please call Representative Wheeler’s office at 630-345-3464 or Senator Holmes’ office at 630-820-8650.
