Assistant House Minority Leader Keith Wheeler, R-Oswego, issued the following statement today following news Thursday evening that Governor JB Pritzker has lifted all restrictions on places of worship previously subject to his Stay at Home Order:
“Faith and worship are an essential part of family and community life. I applaud all the people of faith who kept up the pressure on the Governor to lift his restrictions on the free exercise of religion. Communities of faith are fully capable of implementing measures on their own to protect the health and safety of their congregants in cooperation with local authorities and public health officials. I join them in celebrating this news that we are all free to worship once again.”
Representative Wheeler serves the 50th District, which includes portions of Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, Campton Hills, Elburn, Montgomery, Oswego, Plano, St. Charles, Sugar Grove and Yorkville.
